LeftRoots Hangout: Reclaiming Feminist Internationalism at the Grassroots!
Friday June 20th * 12 noon -1:30 PST / 1pm MT / 2pm CT / 3pm EST
Dear Friends and Comrades,
We are excited to announce our next LeftRoots Hangout with Sandra Morán, Guatemalan human rights organizer, artist, and member of the international secretariat of the World March of Women. Sandra is in the US hosted by the Grassroots Global Justice Alliance for a speaking tour.
Join us for a timely conversation about reclaiming feminism at the grassroots, and to hear about the international actions being planned for 2015!
You can check out this article to learn more about the World March of Women.
We will lead this Hangout in Spanish, with simultaneous translation into English. This is an exciting opportunity and experiment and we need your help to make it successful!
Please recruit Spanish speaking staff, members and activists, particularly monolingual Spanish speakers for whom this will be an important opportunity!
When possible, we encourage organizations to set up one computer that many people can use at once, so people can experience it together and to avoid lots of technical problems. Check with your organization about this.
Please pay attention to these SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS about joining this Hangout.
- You can just listen by phone, but we strongly encourage everyone to join online, from a computer. When connected online from a computer, you can see the live video interview, hear it, and interact with activists from all over the country by chat and video. To do so, download Fuze:https://www.fuze.com/download, and then click on this link: http://fuze.me/24718835.
- To join in Spanish: 1-201-479-4595 and type in meeting number 24718835 when asked or use your computer audio.
- To join in English call 1-626-677-3000 code: 1463597 #. Unlike previous hangouts, you must call into this number to listen in English (you cannot just use the audio from your computer as usual).
If you need help, please contact us at email@example.com
Long live Feminist Internationalism!
